The Concrete Insert Box is a heavy gauge structural box attachment used in all grades of concrete for concrete structures where rods are needed for the subsequent installation of pipe hangers. The Concrete Insert Box has a knockout piece that keeps the box empty and clear of concrete during the pouring process. We also offer a corresponding Insert Nut to install once the knockout piece is removed. The insert nut is installed and fastened to the rod.

What is a Concrete Insert Box?

A Concrete Insert Box is a heavy gauge structural box attachment used in all grades of concrete. It is nailed to the concrete form. There is a knockout piece that keeps the inside of the box empty and clear of concrete during the pouring. After the concrete forms are dismantled the knockout piece can be removed with a screwdriver, the insert nut installed and the rod fastened to the nut.

Why use a Concrete Insert Box?

The use of the Concrete Insert Box saves time and promotes a healthier hanger installation, versus cutting/drilling formed concrete and the inherent dust created from the cut away. They are used and installed by the concrete contractor in parking garages and other concrete structures where rods are need for the subsequent installation of pipe hangers.

Approvals

Concrete Insert Boxes are UL Listed and Approved for 3/8″ rod size up to 4″ pipe and 1/2″, 5/8″ rod sizes up to 8″ pipe.
